She sits in a corner with tears overflowing,
Dreading another night.
Footsteps approaching;
She seeks God’s love but is met with silence.

She lies on her bed – bruised and bleeding,
Gazing out into the night sky seeking an asylum.
She dreams of a haven free from pains;
Reality has imprisoned her; freedom bound by chains.

Ignorance blinds her loved ones from the truth;
Her pleas heard but forgotten.
Daylight sinks into slumber and night beckons.
He torments her; drawing blood with his brown leather belt.

She no longer feels pain nor love;
She prays for the day when she feels again.
